A GOOD GOD MADE YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE
God created all things good and made you the way you are. Don’t let the world make you hate your skin colour, hair type, height, face etc.,
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well. Psalms 139:13-14.
God didn’t “wing it” when creating you the way you look. He loves how He made you, and you are beautiful to Him.
The world teaches us that beauty is based on skin colour, a particular body shape or how your face looks, and you might be tempted to compare yourself to others and have low self-esteem or be vain in the way you see yourself. This is not what God wants for you. He wants you to love yourself based on who He says you are and how much you mean to Him.

You cannot truly love yourself if you do not know who you are. Your identity is found in God, not relationships, education, friends or parents. When this becomes reality, you will love others because you know you are loved.

Ways to love yourself
- Know that you are accepted and loved by Jesus.
- Read what the Bible says about you.
- Don’t compare how you look to others, you are unique.
- Watch your “self-talk”- you can be your greatest motivator or worst enemy by what you say to yourself.
- Be grateful to God
- Forgive yourself often- you will make mistakes, genuinely repent and try again and then extend this grace to others
- Proper self-care- hygiene, habits, food, exercise.
Here are some declarations by scripture about who you are. Speak them, think about them and believe who God says you are.
- I am created in the image of God. (Genesis 1:27).
- I am fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:14).
- I am a child of God, a member of His royal family. (Ephesians 2:19).
- I am deeply loved and highly favored by God. (Psalm 5:12)
- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13).
- I can cast all my anxieties on God because He cares for me” (1 Peter 5:7)
- I am not who the world says I am; I am who God says I am, and I am worthy” (Jeremiah 1:5).
