New Beginnings

Welcome to your new life! We’re so proud of you for saying yes to giving your heart and life to Jesus Christ.
Here’s a reminder of what happened when you accepted Christ.

What does it mean to give your life to Christ or be saved?

It is accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, repenting of your sins, and deciding to live God’s way. It is a personal experience with a guarantee of eternal life with God as you live to please Him.

Romans 10:9- “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

It’s the best decision you can ever make because it is the ONLY way to be saved from your sins. Sounds like the perfect gift, right??

See what these two verses say:

John 3:16-17- For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him

God loved you so much that He gave His best, so that you wouldn’t have to die in your sins and could have a choice to accept Him. He gives you the option to choose Him because He wants you to realise how much He loves you, and for this to stir a desire in you for a relationship with Him.

Acts 4:12- Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.

Remember, Jesus Christ is the ONLY way to eternal life. He is the only one who can save you.

If someone asked you, “How are you so sure that you are saved?”  What would you say?

You’re not saved when you go to church weekly or believe that God exist. You’re not saved because you got baptised, although that is a part of being saved. You are saved because Jesus paid the price for you, and by accepting Him, you are given access to a new life and His Spirit to live for Him.

Here are 4 proofs to know you are saved:

1. The witness of the Holy Spirit– When you give your life to Christ, He gives you His Spirit to live in you for you to know that you are now His child and belong to Him. (Romans 8:14-16- For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God. So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father. For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.)

2. The fruit of the Holy Spirit– The Holy Spirit begins to change your character so that others can know that you have been changed. (Galatians 5:22- But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness)

3. A changed life– you have been given a new life to begin to live for God’s purpose. You may feel as if nothing has changed, but you are not the same. (2 Corinthians 5:17-This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!)

4. A love for people– God shares His love in your heart for others. (1 John 3:14- If we love our brothers and sisters who are believers, it proves that we have passed from death to life. But a person who has no love is still dead.)

So, what should you do with this new life?

Live for Jesus every day and ask Him to help you to please Him!
